This may include analysis of system concepts for Earth Observing or other space programmes, with their intended development approaches, organising or contributing to major reviews at overall System, Ground Segment or Ground infrastructure level. Strong expertise is available in the domains of System IV&V logic, System commissioning preparation and execution, transition into operations, Operational readiness for high availability 24/7 services.
System Architecture Assessment

This support helps answering the following questions: Is the architecture and its foreseen deployment coherent and consistent with the main requirements? Would the system be able to operate as foreseen, fulfilling the needs? Is it compatible with an affordable/efficient IV&V approach and with the intended operational use? Taking the right decisions at architecture level is key to the success of the whole Programme.

Transitioning Science or Technology into Operational Services
This areas of support focusses on one key aspect needed to establish successful Earth Observing systems or data services. How to transition new scientific algorithms or technical concepts into a set of operational services, products or data ?
Management Support during development or exploitation
Managing development or high-availability operations of space systems requires very diverse skills and strong attention to specific aspects. The purpose of this activity is 1) to support the management with honest, unbiased advice based on first-hand experience 2) check the needed skill base and help establishing it 3) transfer knowledge and experience to existing teams as necessary. This support is usually time-limited and can be described as a “starting help”.
Management coaching and teams development
The purpose is to coach managers taking up new responsibilities or having recently evolved into a senior responsibility position. The aim is to help getting a 360°view of their situation, including self-reflection and confronting the challenges and opportunities of their position. Emphasis can be put on the following aspects: development of large or multidisciplinary teams, Interactions, filling organigrams and processes with life, establishing shared values, communicating and implementing a strategy, practicalities of change management, Risks versus Opportunities, importance of “lived” leadership)
Strategy definition support
This support focusses on future space systems, data services, Big Data strategy. The purpose is to find answers to those basic questions: What is the intended data and/or services strategy? How does it fit with the positioning of the company in the overall landscape? How will it be sustainable in a rapidly evolving context? Which approach or mix of solutions is best suited? What are the pitfalls behind the technologies or approaches? What are the risks but also the opportunities?
